Myanmar Earthquake

On March 28, 2025 a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar and Thailand. With its epicenter in Mandalay, the largest city in northern Myanmar, the damage was severe and the loss of life tragic At least 5,407 people were killed in Myanmar and 54 in Thailand. Over 11,000 were injured with the death toll expected to rise. 585 are missing as of April 21, 2025 in Myanmar and 101 are still missing from a building collapse in Bangkok. Tens of thousands of buildings were destroyed or damaged along with hundreds of hospitals and clinics. Relief efforts were hampered by the damage to roads, bridges and infrastructure. The earthquake has left survivors homeless, hungry and hopeless.

In this unimaginable crisis, Connecting Families has joined with local partners in Myanmar to bring food, medicine, water purification systems and daily necessities in two of the most affected areas, with a view to assisting with long-term housing and rebuilding needs.

Initial reports are that the earthquake affected 110,000 pregnant women and left countless orphans.

Working together with Jeshua Soh, founder of Crossworks Helping Hearts and its team of 60+ volunteers, Connecting Families is able to provide urgently needed funds and supplies into the hands of those people and areas who need it most in Mandalay, Sagaing and Nay Pyi Taw.


Crossworks Helping Hearts has provided funding and assistance to Myanmar Kitchen, Youth Resource Association, Medical Action Myanmar, Mercy Relief, Arriya Maggin, Relief Singapore, Myanmar Red Cross and Nande Myitar Rescue. Your gift can provide food, water, electricity, medical care, supplies and in the future housing to those who need it most.

Asia Mission Partners/Mission Sending Service is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit Christian organization registered in the United States.  Any gifts made out to Asia Mission Partners/Mission Sending Service and designated "Connected Families" are tax-deductible in the US and will be released to Rev. Dr. Timothy Conkling and the Connecting Families Team for distribution to those in need in Indonesia and Thailand.  100% of the designated funds for Connecting Families under Asia Mission Partners/Mission Sending Service will reach the intended recipient.
